Who Are We?
The Schuylkill County Council for the Arts owns and operates the stately Arts and Ethnic Center (former Frank D Yuengling) mansion in Pottsville. The Arts Center is host to many artists and artisans. Vocal and music lessons are held here on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. We currently supply meeting space for many local arts groups, yoga classes, pottery lessons, acting classes, as well as hosting events that range from readings to art openings to concerts and productions.
We are proud hosts of the yearly outdoor productions by Schuylkill Free Shakespeare, which provides access to free performances of the classic works of William Shakespeare.
Many private events are held at the center, including but not limited to bridal and baby showers, weddings, graduation and retirement parties, and reunions.
We also provide space for business meetings and civic organizations.
The upkeep of the building and grounds is also the responsibility of the Arts Center. We are looking to make repairs and renovations in the coming months.
