A Little About Us

When you join the Y, you join a community.

The YMCA, located at 520 N. Centre St. Pottsville PA 17901, is for Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.   They offer introduction to sport programs, competitive and recreational gymnastics and competitive swim.  They have an early learning program for toddlers offered 5 days a week, along with discovery programs (art, music and gym).  The fitness center is bigger than you might think and they offer an average of 20 group exercise classes throughout the week.  While you are working out, your children 1 year and older can be upstairs being supervised by staff.  

The Schuylkill YMCA has four big events throughout the year that is open to the public, please come and have fun while supporting the community.  

Events!

Spirit of the Y Dinner and Auction:  Held the last Saturday in February at the Walk-In Art Center, Schuylkill Haven.  Doors open at 6:00 pm.  Tickets for individual or Tables go on sale at the Y Starting in January.

Healthy Kids Day:  Held the first Saturday of April at the YMCA.  Hours: 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.  FREE event for everyone.  Vendors include: bounce house, face painting, story time, obstacle course, US Army, Healthy snacks and so much more!

Halloween at the Y:  Held third Saturday in October at the YMCA. Hours: 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.  This is a FREE event for members/small fee for non-members.  Come dressed up in your costume for a fun filled evening.  Snacks, bounce house, face painting and lots of games.

Breakfast with the Grinch: Held first Saturday in December at the YMCA.  Hours: 8:00 am to 11:00 am.  Enjoy all you can eat breakfast with the Grinch and Santa.  Tickets go on sale in November and there is limited seating.

How can you help us!

  • The Schuylkill YMCA is always looking for donations for their events and children’s room.  This can be anything from art supplies, easy crafts, new coloring books and play dough.  
  • Volunteers are always needed in various departments or and for events.  All volunteers need the PA Child Abuse and PA State Police Background checks prior to volunteering.  
  • Gift baskets are greatly appreciated and are given and/or raffled at all events.  
  • Monetary donations and/or EITC donations are always welcomed.
